It’s our August Late Night, and this month we’re celebrating arts for all!

Meet internationally renowned artist John Bramblitt – the first blind mural artist in the world and now the Taubman’s newest mural artist. His work is collected in more than 120 countries.

John will discuss his fascinating process as a blind painter, from his artistic vision, to prepping his canvases so he can feel them as he paints, to filling in the final work with his vibrant, Pop-inspired aesthetic.

Following John’s talk, acclaimed children’s author and illustrator Cece Bell, who identifies as deaf/hard of hearing, will guide you through designing the alphabet from A-Z. She is the author of books such as El Deafo and Animal Albums from A to Z.

Artwork created by artist Cynthia Wick and participants in the Museum’s Happy HeARTs program will be on display as well. Happy HeARTs is our newest program that serves community members who identify as blind/low vision, deaf/hard of hearing, and neurodiverse.

You’ll also get to join in the fun with an interactive community canvas that you contribute to as well.

Delicious food will be available for purchase from Big Daddy BBQ.

This evening is free, welcoming, and open to all!

Registration is highly encouraged to reserve your seat for the talk.
