Late Nights: The Art of Glass & Sculpted Art Showcase
May 05, 2023
5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Experience the art of glass during this Late Night at the Museum!
Our friends from the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk will be on hand with their mobile glassblowing station providing demos, and you can discover how these talented artisans create original works in glass.
Head inside the Museum afterwards and wander the galleries to experience two exquisite new exhibitions featuring this beautiful medium.
Wonders of Glass: From the Collection of Susan S. and David R. Goode features contemporary glass works by internationally renowned artists such as The Merger, Ginny Ruffner, Preston Singletary, Bertil Vallien, Toots Zynsky, and more.
The Art of Louis Comfort Tiffany: From the Nassau County Museum of Art with the Collection of Susan S. and David R. Goode and the Neustadt Collection offers visitors the opportunity to see several examples of Tiffany Studio’s design, including a stained-glass window and lamps, blown and molded glass vases, as well as other decorative objects.
Local students also will share a spectacular showcase of their welded artworks through a partnership with the American Welding Society District 4, Section 179. The Sculpted Art Contest will be featured in the Museum’s Atrium.
This evening is free, welcoming, and open to all!
