Summer Camps

Stretch the imagination and expand art skills through the TMA summer camps! Camp participants will draw inspiration from our galleries, special guest artist demonstrations, creative exercises and activities. Each week of camp will explore a variety of artistic techniques, styles, and materials. An art show will take place on Friday of each week of camp, showcasing the work by camp participants for their friends and families to enjoy.
Monday - Friday at 8:30am - 12:30pm
$150 Member per week / $175 Non-Member per week
Multiple camp and sibling discount: Sign up for 1 camp at the regular rate and take $10 off for each subsequent camp or sibling registration!

your paintings to life!
Use a variety of painting tools and techniques to create your own landscapes, portraits, still life, mixed media and abstract paintings. Learn about the different styles of painting in the museum’s collection and try master’s techniques including: impasto, stippling and sgrafitto.

Do you love the look of hand crafted jewelry? Now you can create your own wearable works of art for you, your family and friends! Learn simple metal cutting; using a jeweler’s saw. Create texture with jeweler’s tools and combine recycled and found objects such as shells, bottle caps and feathers to create unique statement jewelry pieces.

Sculpt a masterpiece!
Explore a vast array of tools and techniques to create your own sculptural art. Experiment with clay, wire, paper mache, foil and mixed media to create sculpture, pottery, jewelry and mobiles. Learn techniques such as clay hand building and try wheel throwing with the Blue Ridge Potter’s Guild.
