Special Events Manager
The Special Events Manager is responsible for producing and managing all special events for the museum, including exhibition opening celebrations, donor cultivation events, fundraising events and other special events benefitting the Taubman Museum of Art, as well as managing all external facility rentals. The candidate will build enterprise income through the promotion of space rentals to external organizations, wedding planners, and individuals. The manager will work with the Advancement Department to market the facility and drive sales.
The Special Events Manager will participate at a high level in the development of fundraising events plans, including goal setting, objectives, strategies, evaluation and cost effective techniques. The manager will serve as lead for planning and execution of all special events, recruitment of event volunteers, ticket sales and committee members. The candidate will works closely with the Deputy Director of Development in the creation of marketing plans and campaigns, which promote brand awareness and support fundraising efforts and the space rental program. This position will serve as lead for logistical management of all special event housekeeping and audio visual needs.
