Gallery Talks
Gallery talks, offered by docents and museum staff, are a wonderful way to learn more about our rotating exhibitions and rich permanent collection. These twenty-minute talks are offered Thursdays at 1pm.

Adult Tours
We offer adult tours for community groups, retirement communities, conventions, and other interested groups of ten or more people. These docent-led tours are $8 per person. College Tours
We offer docent-led tours for college groups of ten or more people. Tours are $5 per person. Arts Fusion
Integrating the Creative and Healing Arts into the Lives of Those Affected by Memory Loss (Alzheimer’s Association CWVC)
The Taubman Museum of Art is partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association, Central and Western Virginia Chapter, to offer docent-led discussions of our exhibitions and permanent collections. Each hour-long tour is designed to provide a welcoming space to talk about the artworks on view with a small group.
Early Stage Program
The Arts Fusion Early Stage Program provides opportunities for persons in the early stages of Alzheimer's and related dementias, and their caregivers, to participate in docent-led discussions of museum exhibitions. This social outing is modeled on the nationally recognized museum-based program Meet Me at MoMA.

Memory Care Program
The Arts Fusion Memory Care Program provides opportunities for persons in memory care facilities to participate in docent-led discussions of museum exhibitions. To arrange a group tour for memory care residents, please contact Briana Blanchard, Adult Education Coordinator, at 540.204.4127 or bblanchard[at]taubmanmuseum[dot]org.
Memory Care tours are $5 per person or $8 per couple; facility staff members are free. Parking information can be found here or by calling the museum at (540) 342-5760.
About Arts Fusion
Arts Fusion offers a variety of creative and cultural opportunities for those affected by memory loss in the Alzheimer’s Association Central and Western Virginia Chapter area. The mission of Arts Fusion is to create an environment through the arts that promotes creative expression, interpersonal connections, and enjoyment for persons with dementia. Arts Fusion also extends arts opportunities to caregivers and family members of those with memory loss as a way to reduce stress and reestablish connections with their loved ones. In addition, Arts Fusion supports intergenerational programming and provides volunteer opportunities for persons in the early stages of dementia.
