Taubman Museum Continues to Offer Free Admission Thanks to a $75,000 Gift from Advance Auto Parts

Roanoke, Va. (October 24, 2013) – The Taubman Museum of Art is pleased to announce that it will continue to offer free admission to the museum after receiving a generous gift of $75,000 from Advance Auto Parts. In October 2012 a $150,000 contribution from Advance Auto Parts enabled the museum to begin offering free general admission to the public.

“This gift supports everyone who resides in and visits the Roanoke region,” says Executive Director of the Taubman Museum of Art Della Watkins.

kids scuptingSuch support helps the Taubman Museum of Art increase the scope and origin of the art placed on view; as well, gifts help with the development of museum programming for children and adults through the museum school, Art Venture, resource lounge, and summer camps.

The Taubman Museum of Art is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm. Additional hours include Art by Night (first Friday of each month) from 5 to 9pm and Thursday Night Live(every Thursday) from 5 to 9pm.
