Still Life Painting from Observation

Still Life Painting from Observation

This course will introduce you to painting with oils, emphasizing both the development of skills as well as the conceptual basis behind painting. Students will be exposed to techniques, styles, methods, and processes of making a representational image through direct observation of simple still life set ups in the studio. You will learn to make paintings with both representational and emotive content through the use of form, light, value, color, texture, and spatial depth. Also covered are the basics of color theory and composition, paint mixing mediums, and clean up. Instruction is targeted to individual skill level.
