Soapstone Carving

Fee: $75 Students/Educators, $80 Members, $100 for Non-Members
*Additional $45 supply fee covers all required materials.

Learn to create an Inuit-style animal, figurative, or abstract sculpture using only hand tools. Students will go from a block of stone to a finished sculpture in four three-hour sessions. Come prepared with an idea of what you would like to create. Wear working clothes and plan to get dusty! All stone and necessary tools will be provided.

Enrollment for each class is limited; registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Full payment must accompany registration; the Museum accepts cash, check, or credit card. Registered students will recieve a confirmation by email the week prior to the start of class, with details about class requirements, supplies, and museum procedures.

Fees are nonrefundable except when the Taubman cancels a class.
