Collage and Improv: An Inventive Approach To Making Pictures

Collage and Improv: An Inventive Approach To Making Pictures

In this workshop, students will paint and texture collage materials, using acrylics, gesso, and assorted graphic media. These will then be used to explore several strategies for layering and arranging these pictorial compositions. To encourage and inspire our explorations, students will look at some seminal works from other collage artists, including Henri Matisse, Jean Dubuffet, and Romare Bearden.
